Percent Cover

Tree Benefit Estimates

The types of covers that are most present on this area of campus are trees (36%), parking lots (24%), and buildings/roofs (16%).  An easy way to incorporate more tree cover on this section of campus is to include more trees and vegetation in the parking lot areas.  If a requirement was made that for every 5-10 parking spots there must be at least one tree, the amount of tree cover would greatly increase.  This would also make the parking areas more comfortable to be in and more walkable by reducing the temperature and creating shade.  Adding trees to the parking areas would make them more aesthetically pleasing.

For this location's prioritize tree planting tool, I chose an equal distribution of importance between tree stocking level, tree cover per capita, and population density.
