PART 3 - SUITABILITY ANALYSIS MAPS

DONE USING ARCGIS MAPS

suitabiltiy

This map was made by taking some of the key important features found in the inventory analysis maps of the site and combing it into one Composite Site Inventory Map.  The features I included on the main map are civic facilities, parks and greenspace, historical points, beach access points, schools, roads, bike and pedestrian paths, ecological preservation areas, and existing marshland.  The maps for sea level rise, slope, storm surge, and soil can be seen on the side of the map as well.

The areas in white are most suitable while the areas in black are the least suitable.

PART 4 - COMPOSITE SUITABILITY MAP

COP SUIT

This map was created by combing the weighted overlays found in the Suitability Analysis maps into one composite suitability map.  The top three suitability values of each weighted layer were assigned a different color gradient for the so that each one could be easily read on the map.  This composite suitability map was used later in the alternative concepts to determine which areas were most suitable for residential and commercial development, ecological preservation, living shorelines, historic preservation, bike and pedestrian trails, and dune restoration areas.
